A client owned an innovative ingredient already well-established in Japan and starting to become established by competitors within the European market. The client was seeking to create a decision platform for a potential European market launch.
We created an overview of European market brand owners’ usage of the ingredient, typical dosages, related “nutrition and health” claims. We mapped the competitive landscape including ingredient quality, pricing, price elasticity, as well as estimated annual market consumption.
During the project, we did store checking and delivered product purchases to the client for further perusal. The project was concluded with a market situation report with emphasis on market access risks and challenges, as well as gap analysis for establishing ideal product price and communications positioning.

We had a project where our client, a multinational beverage company, wanted to build a library of relevant ingredient options for expanding their product line. We hosted brainstorming sessions to scope the borders of the ingredient landscape to create a correct screening platform. Jointly we defined several benchmarking parameters for ranking the ingredient landscape available for the project.
A screening list was produced and ranked and via a new client session a top score list was created for immediate projects, which were the detailed documented by supplier options, combination matching ingredients, as well labelling and claim opportunities.
A similar project was executed for a dietary supplement client, who had a particular health indication in mind. A brainstorming and scoping session were followed by ranking and benchmarking, and finally by a scientific and dosage investigation for the top priorities.

We assist investors in their valuation checks and ROI assessments. As part of Due Diligence processes, we as independent consultants, have assisted by providing in-depth market feasibility studies, trend factor mapping, and competitive landscaping including IP / Innovation mapping reviews.
Scaling-up risk assessment is a pivotal part of our investigation, as early-stage ingredient development and composition can change dramatically in a large industrial scale setup. Scale-up may change the product composition affecting its market feasibility and positioning.
In situations of innovative ingredients, a cross-over of production technology and product positioning can be recommended, as many ingredients seamlessly offer the same consumer benefit and equally relevant in a product recipe.
Some of the risk parameters are ideal as milestones for term sheets.

A client owned an innovative ingredient well-established in the US. The company considered expanding its sales territory by entering the European market. Their in-house regulatory council requested a feasibility study concerning the launch of the ingredient in Europe including assessment of regulatory activities and investments, as well as Pan-European marketing needs and investments.
Our feasibility study included a rigorous European product screening of competitive solutions with similar ingredients in terms of both matching active substances as well as offering a similar biomedical mode of action.
We dived into the supply chain to follow the ingredient type towards the consumer product market by delivering an overview of the ingredient category’s competitive landscape, CPG product claims, and dosages used, as well as mapping CPG products across national territories.
To analyse the CPG market in detail, we were checking products in eight European languages which are necessary to fully understand the market position of European consumer products.

We had a client with an innovative product concept idea for a new brand of dietary supplements. After brainstorming meetings scoping out and defining the concept, we assisted with a branding platform and detailed product concept development.
We created feasibility studies by analysing the CPG sectors' product offerings across the territory and within particular consumer categories and mapped according to pricing, price elasticity, marketing claims, and availability.
We explored ingredient opportunities to fit with defined concepts including regulatory reviews, existing CPG usage, proposed labelling, and on-pack communications. Together with one of our partners, we created a branding platform including logo, identity, PR, and product presentation.
We liaised with formulators to create prototypes, as well as helping to source ingredients. At the end of the project, we worked to be introducing potential licensing partners to our client.
